About Us

This initiative, spearheaded by the Agriculture and Agrowealth Development Initiative Family Farmers for Food Sufficiency Initiative (AFFFSI) also known as AAWDI, aims to implement smart agricultural practices, develop advanced storage and processing systems, and create a robust framework for disaster relief across Nigeria. AAWDI’s leadership in sustainable agricultural development and community-driven projects positions it as the key driver for transforming food systems, addressing food insecurity, and supporting wealth creation, particularly in vulnerable regions affected by disasters such as floods, terrorism, famine, and communal conflicts.

Equally, AAWDI is committed to advancing food sufficiency and security in Nigeria by implementing a strategic irrigation infrastructure program. The project seeks to provide irrigation facilities for a planned land acquisition of in various states, starting with one state from each of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones annually. The program will leverage support from governmental bodies, private sector
stakeholders, donor agencies, and local communities to ensure uninterrupted year-round cropping through smart agricultural practices, including hydroponics, aeroponics, and irrigation farming.

Hajiya Rekiya Ibrahim Amedu, widely known as the “Philanthropist” is a transformative leader whose resourcefulness, capacity, and competence have redefined the agricultural landscape in Nigeria

Driven by a deep-seated commitment to serve, she is on a mission to lift Nigerians out of hunger and poverty by leveraging the country’ vast agricultural potential.

Guided by the adage, “Without vision, my people perish”, Hajiya Rekiya envisions a Nigeria where communities are no longer dependent solely on government interventions but are empowered by their own resourcefulness. Her vision is to create a dynamic network of passionate individual’s, men and women of goodwill—dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger through agricultural innovation.

she pioneered the planting of nearly a hectare of arable and economic trees, a legacy that continues to enrich the community’ economic and nutritional landscape. Out of her meager resources as a public servant, she sponsors scholarships and empowerment to scores of indigent children, women and youth. Even with limited resources, her relentless drive has already uplifted countless lives, proving that true leadership is measured not by personal gain but by the tangible benefits brought to the community.
